Privacy Policy
Effective July 20, 2026
Privacy by design
BTDebug is developed by Scyllarus LLC as an offline Bluetooth Low Energy engineering tool. The app does not require an account, display advertising, use analytics SDKs, or upload BLE traffic and dashboard data to a Scyllarus cloud service.
Information processed on your device
To provide packet analysis, GATT exploration, and local dashboards, BTDebug processes information made available by nearby Bluetooth devices. This can include device names and identifiers, signal strength, advertised service data, characteristic values, and packets you choose to read, write, or monitor.
Saved devices, packet history, parser settings, and dashboard configurations remain in the app's local storage unless you explicitly export or share them using Android features.
Android permissions
BTDebug may request Bluetooth, Nearby Devices, and—on Android versions where the operating system requires it—location permissions to scan for and connect to BLE devices. These permissions are used only for app functionality. BTDebug does not use them to track or build a profile of your physical location.
Information we collect
Scyllarus LLC does not receive or retain personal information, BLE scan results, packet captures, GATT values, or custom dashboard content through the BTDebug app. If you contact us for support, we receive the information you voluntarily include in that communication and use it only to answer your request.
Third-party services
Distribution platforms such as Google Play may independently process download, purchase, device, or diagnostic information under their own privacy policies. That processing is controlled by the platform and is not part of BTDebug's local BLE data processing.
Data control and security
You can remove locally stored BTDebug data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. You are responsible for securing your Android device and for ensuring that any packet data you export or share is handled appropriately.
Children's privacy
BTDebug is a professional engineering utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when BTDebug's features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
